The blame is well deserved because Trump is a President who hung small businesses out to dry. Last year Trump said Google should not be expected to pay for every article and story they use. What that means is Trump expects the publishers of those articles and stories to work for free. Read Trump's AI Action Plan https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Americas-AI-Action-Plan.pdf and you will see he doesn't care about publishers or even woke tech companies so long as the checks they write have lots of zeros.

Furthermore, review all FTC final orders, consent decrees, and injunctions, and, where appropriate, seek to modify or set-aside any that unduly burden AI innovation.

This improvement coincided with my decision to delete all old contents and try to create new material (not updating old content). It appears that Google may have flagged the site as spammy, and the restrictions were only lifted once the affected pages were removed and the algorithm updated.

I’m seeing this at least in my niche. During this update our average position improved but are down 20% from the update. This is a redistribution of clicks in serps. I’ve given up putting anymore effort into driving traffic. Will only focus on selling our products.
